Last month's post closed on a line about AI: outcomes decide what can be claimed. It turns out that's not just a caveat about language models, it's the organizing idea behind almost everything we shipped this month. A training record and a ready worker are not the same thing, and most of July's work is about closing that gap: making readiness something you can see and prove, not just something you can say happened.
Seeing readiness at a glance
Workforce Readiness Dashboard. A new dashboard report gives you overall clearance at a glance: which workers are not cleared and exactly which certifications they're missing or have expired, a clearance status breakdown by reason, readiness by trade, a site leaderboard, and credential expiry buckets so you can act before someone falls out of compliance. This is the lead feature this month, the closest thing we've built yet to a single screen that answers 'who's actually ready to work.'
"Who's on site?" We dug into a straightforward question from a customer: how do we actually know who's on site? It turns out we already had a lot of the pieces. A worker scans a QR poster at the gate and sees a status card — cleared, expiring, action required, or pending — and every scan is logged. The gap we're closing next: 'cleared' is still a manual flag today, nothing computes it automatically. The SITE-06 clearance engine, queued next, will auto-set cleared status and percentage from each worker's training against their role's requirements, then push that status onto their site management profile.
Meeting sites where they are
Construction Safety Orientation Builder with Ally Safety. A new self-serve builder that lets anyone with access build Ally Safety CSOB sites, fully stocked with the content you need. There's also a public 7-day trial, so a site can be up and running with a working orientation in less than an hour.
WordPress single sign-on. SSO using WordPress is now live. One less login for admins managing content on their own site.
Content quality and organization
Transcript vocabulary overhaul. The custom find/replace vocabulary that corrects auto-captions now matches on word boundaries, catches fuzzy or misspelled variants our speech-to-text engine produces, and re-applies cleanly to existing transcripts. Net effect: more accurate captions and subtitles for every learner watching in a language that isn't English.
Mobile progress
Tap to pause. On phone or tablet, tapping a training video now pauses or resumes it, while on-screen interactive overlays keep working. It's live now, with a bigger mobile rollout planned for later in the quarter.
A completion record isn't a ready worker
We've been sitting with a stat from LUMA1's own Three Principles study. The one on what the evidence actually says about safety orientation and toolbox talks. Of construction workers killed in falls, 77 percent had completed working-at-heights training. Only 16 percent were properly protected at the time of the incident.
That's not a knowledge failure. It's the gap between a training record and a verified, in-the-moment ready worker. Exactly the distinction the study's third principle draws: outcome measures decide what you're allowed to claim. A certificate proves someone sat through content. It doesn't prove anyone checked, on the day, that they were actually protected.
That's the thread running through the dashboard and 'Who's on site?' this month. Both are attempts to move the readiness signal from 'did they complete it' to 'are they cleared right now.' A different, harder question, and the one that actually matters at the gate.
