About LUMA1

About LUMA1 — The Team Behind Workforce Readiness

Our purpose is to be the system that tells the truth about whether a worker is ready to start work.

Not whether they signed a form.

Not whether a video was viewed.

Whether they are ready.

Who We Are

Global team.
One standard.

LUMA1 UK & Ireland is part of Luma One Corporation, a global group with roots in Canada. Our people work across construction, energy, manufacturing and infrastructure. Industries where training can't fail.

We sit in different countries and different time zones. We speak different languages. But we hold every worker, on every site, to the same standard: ready before day one.

That's the job. Wherever we are, whoever we're working with, we do it the same way.

300+ companies trust us. Award-winning results. Workers cleared in 80+ languages, on the sites where the work actually happens.

FAQ

Answers to the questions we hear most.

About LUMA1
Is LUMA1 right for us?

If you mobilise workers to site, yes. LUMA1 proves your workforce understood their training before they start work. It is built for construction and infrastructure, from a single site to a national programme.

What does a LUMA1 subscription include?

Content build and editing, secure hosting, translation, assessments and reporting. What you get scales with your tier. See the pricing page for the plan that fits your workforce.

Does LUMA1 work on site, where other systems don't reach?

Yes. Office systems assume a desk and a strong connection. Site rarely offers either. LUMA1 reaches workers on mobile at the point of need, on site, remote and in low-connectivity conditions. Readiness isn't stuck back in the office.

How does LUMA1 handle agency, subcontract and transient workers?

This is the gap most systems leave open. Contingent labour sits outside your LMS. We deal with it. Onboard, train and prove the readiness of subcontract, agency and temporary workers alongside your direct workforce, and track every one of them separately.

Can we prove a worker understood, not just that they turned up?

Yes. That is the whole point. A signature or a completion tick proves attendance. It doesn't prove understanding. LUMA1 uses assessments and knowledge checks to prove each worker understood their training before they start work. Comprehension, not just completion.

How do you keep training engaging for frontline workers?

Frontline workers don't learn from binders. LUMA1 uses interactive video, hotspots, drag-and-drop, quizzes and Spot the Hazard activities to keep people engaged and prove they were paying attention. Learning that holds attention is learning that sticks.

Training and capabilities
Does LUMA1 support multiple languages?

Yes. LUMA1 translates content into 80+ languages, so every worker learns in the language they understand. That covers video, playlists and assessments.

Can we turn our existing PowerPoints and documents into training?

Yes. Import your existing PowerPoints and LUMA1 turns them into interactive, video-based modules with voiceover in 80+ languages and built-in questions. You don't start from scratch, and you don't need a production team.

Can we automate training and stop chasing people?

Yes. Set a campaign up once and let Autopilot run it. Assign content to groups, set the recurrence, and the system delivers, tracks and chases overdue workers by email or text. No spreadsheets, no manual monitoring.

How do refresher and ongoing training work?

LUMA1 focuses refresher training on what a worker got wrong, not what they already know. Sessions stay short and competence stays current as credentials and training lapse. You set the frequency, from monthly to multi-year cycles.

Can we deliver SOPs and reminders at the point of work?

Yes. Deliver video-based SOPs, tool-specific training and task-level reminders inside the real workflow, reached by QR code at the place they are needed. Capture worker feedback to improve them, and reuse them across the business.

How do you manage contractor certifications and credentials?

Bring certifications in and keep them current by QR code, email, text, the LUMA1 Hub or your own systems. Workers can upload their own qualifications too. Everything sits in one place, so you always know who holds what and what has expired.

Can we run and track live training events?

Yes. Plan and deliver live training, including content, assessments and surveys, in a live setting. Attendance and results are tracked automatically, so a classroom session leaves the same evidence trail as everything else.

Do we still need classroom training?

Keep it where it works. LUMA1 automates the content, testing and tracking around your classroom training, and proves comprehension afterwards. Use it to remove the admin and the paperwork, not your instructors.

Readiness, compliance and audit
How does ATLAS clearance work with subcontractors?

ATLAS tracks subcontractors separately from your direct workforce. Clearance is built from four layers: a global content library, industry compliance packs, your own requirements and role-based assignments. A worker is not Cleared until every requirement for their role is met: credentials valid, training done, assessments passed. Status updates in real time as credentials expire or training lapses. The Contractors Report gives your HSE or procurement team a live view of readiness across every firm on your programme.

How does LUMA1 help us prove compliance to an auditor?

Every action is tracked and timestamped. Inductions, role briefings, statutory training, toolbox talks and assessment results sit in one record, by worker, site and subcontractor. When an auditor or client asks for proof, you produce it in minutes, not days.

Does LUMA1 work with our existing LMS?

Yes. LUMA1 exports SCORM 1.2 packages that import into any SCORM-compliant system, including Cornerstone, SAP SuccessFactors and Moodle. For ATLAS clients, the Content API delivers LUMA1 content inside your own applications with named completion tracking. Useful if you embed inductions in an existing workforce portal.

Pricing and billing
What counts as an active worker?

Any worker assigned or completing at least one piece of content in a calendar month. Workers sitting in the system with no activity that month don't count towards your tier. If you go over your cap there is no automatic overage charge. We talk to you about the right tier for your growth.

Does the price cover all my workers, or just the active ones?

Just the active ones. Run a 500-person project but only 120 workers train that month, and you are billed against 120. That matters for seasonal work where numbers move. You don't pay for idle headcount.

What is the set-up fee and what does it cover?

It is a one-time fee paid at signing. It covers everything needed to get you live before your first worker logs in. SITE includes a guided set-up call and configuration wizard. OPERATIONS adds a structured rollout with content upload, group setup and user import. ATLAS adds a dedicated engagement covering SSO and SCIM, a security review, integration planning and your first-site deployment.

Is there a free trial?

No. We don't offer a free trial. The way in is a Trial of the Standard: a paid, scoped first step on one live project with real workers. It ends with a working Cleared / Not Cleared dashboard and an audit pack you can take to your team. Speak to us to scope one.

Can we switch plans mid-year?

Yes. Upgrades take effect straight away and are charged pro rata for the rest of your annual term. Downgrades take effect at renewal. If you are growing fast, ask about a multi-tier agreement so there are no mid-year surprises.

What is the minimum contract term?

All plans are annual. We don't bill monthly. Cancellation needs 30 days' written notice, and any pro-rata balance is settled then. Multi-year agreements over two to three years come with additional discounts.

Which currency do you bill in?

We contract in GBP across the UK and Ireland. All prices are shown in GBP.

Data and security
Is our data kept separate from other customers?

Yes. OPERATIONS and ATLAS run on logically isolated tenants with separate data schemas. ATLAS Enterprise adds full per-tenant database isolation, so your data is physically separated from every other account. Data is stored in Microsoft Azure data centres in your region. We share our data processing agreement and sub-processor list on request.
